Yikes! It has been over 6 months since I have updated this blog. Time goes so quickly and somethings just slip away. So how can I briefly catch you up on the last 6 months.
Yancey and I both started new jobs and it has been an adjustment to work out schedules and other changes but we seem to be settling in now. Yancey loves working at Apple and only has about a 15 minute drive to work each day. I passed my 15 year mark with Starbucks and still consider myself so lucky to work for such a great company. I have increased my store count and geography but learning about the licensed side of Starbucks has been rewarding. I also joined two board of directors for local organizations I have been working with and this is keeping me very busy as well.
Emmy has completed two seasons of Basketball and soccer and continues with gymnastics. I loved coaching both and learned a lot about patience with other people's 3 year olds. She is very excited to be back in the pool this spring and on vacation was swimming like a fish. She will be starting t-ball in a couple of weeks and seems to be looking forward to it. Now the search for a preschool begins. She is so excited for her birthday and to be turning 4 years old. She is growing up so quick!
Jackson finished middle school and had an outstanding 8th grade year. Straight A's, jazz band and performed in two school musicals /plays. He is still very active in Scouts and is preparing for two Scout trips coming up. One week they will be floating the river and camping in Moab, UT and the next week will be spending a week at long term camp in South Dakota. All of this is going to follow his 10 day trip to Washington DC with Nana and Baba. We clearly won't be seeing much of Jackson in June. He has joined the swim team again so he will stay very busy over the summer. In addition, he is taking some college prep courses his freshman year and has already received the summer homework to prepare.
Annie just finished her sophomore year and is ready for Summer. She is playing competitive softball again this year and is now on the Colorado Cardinals. She has loved the independence of driving and is really pretty good at it. I know it has helped us tremendously as well. She started her first job this month at a new frozen yogurt shop called Menchies and loved seeing that first pay check roll in. We are looking forward to a busy summer with trips to Nebraska and California for her tournaments.
It is hard to capture all the birthdays, holidays and events over the last six months. I have uploaded lots of photos on our shutterfly site so be sure to click on the link and take a look.
