He was such a sweet dog! Not real bright but lovable from the start. He started battling cancer within the last month and it took him quickly. Rapid weight loss and an inability to fight off any injury. We did not want him to suffer. Last week the vet said it could be any day and that we would know when it was time. She was right, one day up and moving and the next day he was struggling to breath.
We will miss him greatly!

I saw it first on Yancey's Facebook wall, so I began seeking more info. So sorry. We know what it's like to see that decline. As a matter of fact, Ken has Duke in cancer treatment right now. At first the chemo seemed to get Duke down a bit, but recently his energy seems normal. Expensive. One week the cost was $270. One day at a time, I guess.
