As you can see in one picture, Emmy was very sick the week prior to her birthday. She had a temperature of 102-104 for four days. When it finally broke, she broke out in a rash from head to toe. It lasted for over a week and we are still trying to get over what is left. She has a couple new teeth in addition to her first four coming in. She is almost walking on her own and if she would just trust herself and let go, she would be off and running. 
We watched fireworks on the 4th of July and she was not afraid of the loud noise at all. She just laid and watched them from my lap and seemed rather interested. We had her birthday party the next day with about 50 family and friends. We had a wonderful dinner and a lot of fun. Emmy opened presents and entertained all for about 20 minutes. I was impressed at her attention to the process. She made everyone laugh and everyone commented on what a happy baby she is. As you can see with the cake, she was unsure. She knew she didn't want to get her hands dirty, so she just went in face first. Very gently! She loved singing happy birthday and was sure to clap when everyone else did. With lots of new toys and a curious mind she will be busy for awhile.
